We require that you send us a check to cover the full value of the bocals you wish us to send you. This check is not cashed but held here until the bocals we have sent you have been returned to us. We will then return your check. Should you decide to purchase one of the bocals, we will then ask that you send us a separate check for the price of the one bocal plus the amount of money we have spent to cover shipping and full insurance charges when we sent the bocals to you. We normally send out bocals by UPS 2nd day air.

You are under no obligation to buy a bocal from us. Your sole responsibility is the shipping and insurance charges we spend in sending the bocal to you and the cost of your returning the bocals to us. We insist that the bocals be insured for their full value because of possible damage to the bocals during shipment. This has occurred in three instances since we have been sending out bocals on trial, but in each case there would have been a considerable loss to us and the prospective customer had the shipment not been fully insured.

Often a bassoonist will wish to try a number of different bocal types since he is not sure which will best suit his instrument. After trying them, he may decide to return most of them and ask that we send him more of those that he liked. Provided the bocals are in stock, we are always willing to do so.

If you are in the Chicago area and would like to visit us and try bocals in our store, please call us and set up an appointment. This will allow you to try out many more bocals than you would receive had we shipped bocals to you.
